I live in the Riverland region of SA with my ever expanding family.
I have always been a crafter of some kind. I’ve dabbled in almost every craft available. I began scrapping in 2003 and its been a huge part of my life ever since. My work is colourful usually with a mix of colours and patterns. I love to stitch on my layouts and cards and add all sorts of homespun elements like fabric, lace and buttons.
My work has appeared in all of the Australian magazines including Scrapbooking Memories, Scrapbook Creations and For Keeps and I was awarded the Scrapbooking Memories Masters title in 2007.
Try your hand at creating one of these fun and gorgeous projects using our great products and our Designer of the Month's inspiration!

:: White card [view]
:: Pattern paper - Heidi’s garden, Vintage [view]
:: Create a card rub ons – the little ones [view]
:: Rub on stickers – Little Miss ladybug [view]
Step one
From the pattern papers cut six squares. These can all be slightly different in size as we want them overlapping on the front like a patchwork quilt. Mix them up a bit with different colours and patterns. Once happy with the selection attach them in a patchwork fashion to the front of the card. Machine stitching each alternate one in place.
Step two
Add a ‘bird’ rub-on to the top left square and a ‘sweet baby girl’ sentiment to the middle left square.
Step three
Take the blue flower rub-on and apply it to a piece of blue pattern paper, cut it out carefully so that you have a sweet little flower embellishment. Attach this to the bottom right square using embroidery thread to hold it in place.
Note
Cover the inside cover of the card with a rectangle of pattern paper to hide the machine stitching.

:: Designer chipboards [view]
Step one
Begin with a tall white card and round the bottom corners.
Step two
Add a rub-on ‘welcome to the world little one’ sentiment along the bottom edge of the card, making sure it is centered.
Step three
Cut four 2” x 2” squares from pattern paper – choose two pink and two blue coordinating papers from the Heidi’s garden range. Position them across the card randomly and machine stitch each in place as you go.
Step four
Finally to finish off, add a little chipboard elephant to the right side above the sentiment.
Note
To finish off the inside of the card and to cover the machine sewing, cut a rectangle of pattern paper slightly smaller that the inside and attach.

:: Blue card [view]
:: Pattern paper Contempo: Panama lounge [view]
:: Rub ons – Emilys garden collection [view]
Step one
Begin with a blue card – round the bottom corners and put aside for now.
Step two
Cut a 14cm x 9.5cm piece of pink paper and round bottom corners. Cut a brown spot piece 13cm x 8cm and also round the bottom corners.
Attach the brown spot to the centre of the pink paper and machine stitch around the edge.
Step three
Now we will create some flowers for the front by making a little stack of circles as so –
Cut two of each, as we are making two flowers -
Firstly a brown 4.5cm diameter circle then a pink 3.5cm diameter circle and finally from the paper with flowers on it, cut a 2.5cm circle and capture a little pink flower in the centre.
Scrunch up all the circles and then smooth flat again to add some texture.
Step four
Cut two stalks with leaves attached from pattern paper.
Step five
Now position the stalks with leaves toward the left side and attach. Machine stitch the stalks in place. Add the little flower circles to the top of the stalks and stitch around the edge of the small inner circle, stitching through all layers.
Step six
Add a little ‘big dreams’ rub-on sentiment to the right side of the flowers and cut a small glitter butterfly from the butterfly paper in the Panama lounge pack and add above the rub-on.
Step seven
The final step is to attach it all to the front of the blue card. All of the machine stitching is neatly hidden now.

:: White tall card [view]
:: Grace Taylor paper – Contempo, Panama Lounge [view]
:: Journal tag
Step one
Begin with a tall white card.
Cut a piece of pink spot pattern paper from the Contempo collection 7.5cm x 20cm ‐ attach this to the front of the card – (you will have a small white border of card showing around all four
sides.)
Optional step
Machine stitch around the outside edge of the pink paper to add some interest and texture. Note: cut a rectangle of paper in a coordinating pattern slightly smaller than the inside front of the card and attach over the stitching so that the card looks nice and neat inside.
Step two
Now we can add in some more pattern paper and decorate the front. Working from the bottom up: Add a pink pattern paper block which measures 6.5cm x 5cm , then add the Good times’ journal tag. Finally add a block of blue pattern paper which measures 6.5cm x 4cm. Once you are happy that they are spaced evenly, attach.
Step three
From the butterfly pattern paper cut a large pink butterfly and attach toward the top of the journal tag – mine overlaps the edge of the card slightly. Note: be careful with the cutting so that the little antenna stay attached.
